For the school year 2010 – 2011
Year 7 Yellow pathway pupils have ICT embedded into PBL.
Year 7 Blue and Green pathway pupils have 1 lesson of ICT a week, which are based on the National Curriculum. Pupils are taught their ICT skills on the basis of problem solving and are satisfying the requirements of ICT Functional Skills.
Year 8 and Year 9 pupils all have 1 lesson a week, based on the Key Stage Three National Curriculum which builds up their skills, knowledge, understanding and abilities, preparing them for Years 10 and 11 and life after school.
All pupils in Key Stage 4 work towards a Nationally recognised qualification in ICT, one of the suite of
OCR Nationals in ICT.
In Year 10 Blue and Green pupils have 1 lesson a week and are completing coursework leading to the new First Award OCR National in ICT. Yellow pathway pupils have 2 lessons a week. During this year pupils will have to complete the compulsory new
Unit 1 (ICT in Business) and new Unit 21 (Website graphics) and in Year 11 the new Unit 5 (Desk Top Publishing.) There is also an option group doing the old
Certificate OCR National in ICT, which is the equivalent to 4 GCSE's.
In Year 11 Blue and Green pupils have 1 lesson a week and are working toward the old
First Award OCR National in ICT. Yellow Band pupils have 2 lessons a week and are working towards the old
Award OCR National in ICT, which is worth 2 GCSE's. There is also an option group doing the old
Certificate OCR National in ICT, which is the equivalent to 4 GCSE's.
Every pupil at the Frederick Gough School, has access to the school network which comprises six network suites and numerous clusters of PCs based in classrooms.
